I've always been curious about the world around me and how things work. That's why I became a scientist.

 

Growing up in Youngstown Ohio, my parents nurtured my curiosity by encouraging me to ask questions and explore. When I was accepted to UBC for my Ph.D., I jumped at the opportunity to start a new adventure.

Now, I've been lucky to call Vancouver home for the last 8 years. When I'm not in the lab, I can be found hiking, playing with my dog Ginny, or throwing mugs on the pottery wheel.
